I chose this because it was quirky and because we always strive to exploit the number of the conference and this year it is TWELVE!
My take is that we live in a chaotic and ever-changing world. The pace of technological change, the economics of compute, geopolitics, competition, global trade, and connectivity put us in a precarious position. So, it can be a focus on AI or other technologies or a confluence of technologies and other factors that shows how being a security/tech professional is dramatically changing. We need to strive for standards (IMO) and better resiliency to weather the coming storms.
This theme also riffs off of 12 Monkeys, the Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis movie (and later a TV series). In this movie, Bruce Willis is sent back to prevent a pandemic that essentially wipes out 90% of humanity and causes an apocalypse. They have time travel despite all of this. So, I am going to steal various time travel themes from movies and television. This is silly, but just for fun. Back to the Future, Doctor Who, etc.
